On my way to a world premiere in Athens 🏛


Last minutes of study and memorizing before boarding, in Ben Gurion airport

Tomorrow night I will be premiering a new solo piece written especially for me. The piece, named HARAAM, is a result of a year's work with the Israeli composer Ziv Slama. 9 minutes of music for trombone solo, the piece combines western and Arab musical idioms, with a carefully crafted system of microtonal modes that put new light on the vast expressive possibilities of the trombone and the human voice. Thank you, Ziv, for this beautiful piece and the enriching process of working together.

Looking forward to perform HARAAM tomorrow night in Athens as part of the closing concert of the Greek trombone days! Pictures and video to follow.
